Steyning Gardening Club.
As spring arrives and we begin to see our gardens coming back to life after a very wet winter, I know I look out and can’t wait to spend more time outside and planning for the year ahead, as well as the more distant future.
I will of course make mistakes and frequently do, plants in the wrong place, some that just didn’t survive the brief cold spell despite being ‘protected from frost’ as advised. These ‘jobs’ are part and parcel of the joy I find in our garden.
The Steyning Gardening Club has been very much like a garden growing. After months of planning, list making, meetings and seeing how we can make our new venture a success we are now approaching our Launch on 13th March at the Steyning Centre.
We are all delighted with the positive responses we have received from people we have met or who have contacted us via email, and we are looking forward with great excitement to meeting many of you on 13th.
Just as in a garden, there are the mundane tasks to contend with and I am taking this opportunity to share some of those with you. As we have previously mentioned, we plan to meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 in the Steyning Centre. We will be asking for an annual subscription of £20 per person, with a reduction to £30 for dual membership. Obviously, we will always welcome guests for a small fee paid on the night. Don’t forget our raffle with the chance to win some fabulous prizes kindly donated by several of our sponsors.
As well as refreshments, there will be the opportunity to share your ideas for our club. Our planned schedule for our first year will be available for you to see and hopefully put some dates onto your calendars.
