Compass Mortgages began life way back in December 2004. At the time it was just the Director Dean Haysom but as things picked up Beth Hampton came on board initially as an administrator and then a fully-fledged Mortgage Adviser.

What a great move that was!

We both became extremely busy and needed assistance and that’s when Laura Haysom joined us in December 2017.

Business continued to thrive and that’s how we now have a team of six advisers with Sarah Funnell and Hannah Stoner our latest recruits.

We still find it surprising that people go straight to their bank for mortgage advice when there are so many lenders out there all vying for your business.

Some of the lenders will not deal with the public direct and only transact mortgages through brokers which makes their cost base low and therefore allows them to offer competitive rates as a result.

In addition, brokers like us have access to ‘exclusive’ products where the rates can be lower even if you bank with that particular lender!
