Henfield Theatre Company: The Sound of Music

Wednesday 1st January - 19:30 - 22:00The Henfield Hall, Coopers Way, Henfield, BN5 9DBHenfield Theatre Company is pleased to be presenting that timeless classic show, The Sound of Music, as its next production, to be staged at the beginning of January.

Set in Austria shortly before its annexation into Nazi Germany in 1938, the story features a beautiful and moving portrayal of that inspirational true life character, Maria von Trapp. The young Maria is sent as a governess to a large family, while she decides whether to become a nun.

She loves the children and, in time, also falls in love with their widowed father, Captain Von Trapp. Maria’s devotion and her love of music combine to energise the family and, in effect, carry them through that turbulent time.

The production is directed by Di Norman, with Dave Barnett as musical director and Ann Atkins as choreographer. It is kindly sponsored by The Post House Café, Henfield.

NOTE:
The show will be staged at The Henfield Hall from Wednesday 1st to Saturday 4th January 2020.

There are daily performances at 7.30 pm and a Saturday matinee starting at 2.30 pm.

Tickets, priced from £12 for adults and from £10 for under 16s, are available online (www.henfieldtheatrecompany.com) or from 29 November, at the box office, Stevens Estate Agents, Henfield High Street (01273 492141).
