Woods Mill at 50

On 8 June 1968 Woods Mill nature reserve opened its doors to the public. Over the past 50 years our reserve has been visited by thousands and thousands of people of all ages.

Whether they are children pond dipping on a school visit, adults learning about birdsong on an education course or just casual visitors enjoying the serenity and wildlife during a relaxing stroll, this beautiful corner of our county has been an invaluable resource to generations of Sussex residents.

Throughout 2018 and into 2019 we are celebrating half a century of engaging and inspiring the public at Woods Mill and we’d like to invite you to come along and join us.

Through generous support from ScottishPower Foundation we will be offering a busy programme of wildlife walks, talks and training events giving you the chance to learn more and enjoy Woods Mill.

These ‘Woods Mill at 50’ events are free and everyone is welcome.

The funding from ScottishPower Foundation will also pay for improvements to the reserve over the autumn and winter.

If you’d like to learn more about the wildlife on the reserve look at our diary of special Woods Mill at 50 Wildlife Walks and events at W: sussexwildlifetrust.org.uk/woodsmill50

We look forward to welcoming you to Woods Mill.
