Vocal Fusion Acapella - Success for Local Chorus

Success for Local Chorus

Steyning based Vocal Fusion Acapella took part in the Annual Barbershop Convention on Saturday 27 May held at the prestigious Bournemouth International Centre. Thirty-Seven choruses from around the country came together to compete, enjoy and celebrate this wonderful art-song – singing not only in the competition but well into the night.

Vocal Fusion Acapella & their Director Zoe Peate, so called because they don’t stick strictly to the Barbershop style, chose that day to deliver their best ever performance and were awarded Third Place in the Small Chorus category, Second Place in the Most Improved Chorus category and First Place in their division out of nine other choruses. Overall they came 18th which is an amazing achievement as only 16 men took to the stage – there were many chorus with fifty + members.

The whole weekend was one of great camaraderie and fun.
