Upper Beeding returns to school

We wanted to create a whole piece of art work to celebrate coming back together as a school. We felt it was important for everyone to take part including the children and all the adults in school.

Everyone decorated a circle using oil pastels. They could create a pattern using a variety of mark making techniques.

We chose to decorate circles as a circle is the perfect representation of completeness. It has a never-ending line, is balanced and a symbol of unity.

Each class was given a main colour as their focus and once finished the circles have been displayed to create a beautiful rainbow. We wanted to create a rainbow as this has been such a prominent symbol during the pandemic.

A rainbow gives us hope, joy and to give thanks to all the keyworkers.

It has certainly has brought joy to our school and has put a big smile on our faces. The children are very proud of their work.
