Touched by kindness

I popped up the High Street today to get a dress altered at Dandylion and was confused by the little tea party going on outside.

Igor, the shop owner, tells me he put a bench out there one summer and some elderly residents sat on it chatting, so he offered them some tea.

They had such fun, chatting to Igor and his customers and enjoying the buzz of the high street in comfort, it's become a bit of a popular hangout for elderly from the care home or living alone.

He went on to tell me how he's upgraded his bench to table and chairs and has started a little club called CAMEO (Come and meet everyone) inviting people who are alone or feeling lonely to join him for lunch once a month.

He even has a facebook page CAMEO.
