Steyning, the 'friendly' Tennis Club

Did you once play tennis but somehow you’re not anymore?  Have you watched Wimbledon and thought it would be fun to play?  Do you have children who might like to play tennis?  If the answer to any of these questions is YES, why not go down to Steyning Tennis Club?

Situated on the Memorial Field the club has around 200 members ranging in age from 5 to 85 and in ability from beginner to pretty good. There are three courts, floodlights for year-round play and a new clubhouse opened by former world #4 Greg Rusedski.

The club has a thriving junior section with around 50 youngsters taking part in weekly group coaching sessions and junior teams for those who enjoy the competition.

For adults, there are social tennis sessions on almost every day of the week to which all abilities are welcome. As well as tennis, they usually include a cup of tea and cake so it’s a great way to socialise and meet new people.

For the better players there are weekly practice sessions for the men’s and women’s teams which play in the Sussex leagues.

If you’re a beginner or haven’t played for a while, coach Julia Searle runs ‘Rusty Rackets’ courses to get you started or reacquainted with the great game of tennis.

Memberships are £140/£60/£30 for adults/juniors/minis (£300 for a family).

Go down to the club on Saturday mornings for juniors and afternoons for adults.
