Steyning Grammar School – Summer Musical Showcase

This year, Steyning Grammar School is running a week long intensive Musicals Summer School for students. It will take place in the last week of August and involve 63 students aged 9 to 18 - all students from the Grammar School and local primary schools.

The week is based on ‘Screen to Stage’ musicals - taking material and songs from screen musicals and performing them live on stage. The theme for the week is exploring characters that are ‘Dreamers, Schemers and Revolutionaries’

At the end of the week there are two showcase performances. There will be songs, scenes and dances from classic and contemporary screen musicals: Les Miserables, The Lion King, Matilda, High School Musical, Oliver!, The Greatest Showman and more.

The week is conceived, directed and produced by the same team who’ve run recent Steyning Grammar School musicals including ‘The Addams Family’, ‘Billy Elliot’ and ‘We Will Rock You’.

It’s going to be a thrilling event, expertly staged and performed by an ensemble of exceptionally talented young performers.
