Steyning Food & Drink Festival 2018

After 5 highly acclaimed Food & Drink Festivals staged within the Steyning area, the Steyning & District Community Partnership Visitors & Tourism Group are up and running for their sixth event! The Festival runs for 5 weeks, starting on 1st September and finishing on 7th October, both dates celebrated by the Farmers Market with live music, cooking demos, pumpkin weighs and of course, all the wonderful food stalls.

Additionally, the Festival, includes a multitude of great special offers from our foodie shops & eateries, together with some awesome events held throughout the period. As before it is being run under the umbrella of the Horsham Food & Drink Festival, which has been successfully organised by Horsham District Council for many years. This year, we are welcoming Dave Broom, Gin Expert & Author extraordinaire for our first ever: Gin Tasting. As the new breed of artisan gin distilleries continue to multiply, this spirit is outstripping even whiskey & wine in popularity – a gin revolution, I am told!
As well as the tastings, the evening will include an informal chat with Dave, a book signing and a delicious dinner to be staged at the Sussex Produce Café and presented by the Steyning bookshop.

The Artisan Bakehouse in Ashurst, will be hosting an evening with Emanuel Hadjiandreou, an Internationally acclaimed, award winning baker – another date not to be missed. Both The Artisan Bakehouse & The Sussex Produce Shop are 2018 Sussex Food & Drink Awards winners – Best Eating Experience and Best Food Shop, respectively.
This year our Festival Charity is St Barnabas House – a much loved, local charity. Among the many events we are holding which will attract donations to this cause are: Supper & Live Music at Sussex Produce Café; Several Breakfasts at local venues; Charity dishes throughout the Festival where, if chosen, a contribution to St Barnabas will be made (including lunches, dinners, pizzas and this year for the first time a charity scone at Cobblestone Tea House); a Fishing Competition at  Passies Pond;  Heavenly Tea at Springwells and Mulled Wine& Star Gazing at The Star and the Wiston Big Picnic Field.

Other great events include a Beer Festival, The Great Steyning Bake Off, Cobblestone Walk Family Foodie Day, together with fabulous tours, walks, open days, soft jazz & tea – the list just goes on and on. Festival Offers: Include: Free bottles/glasses of wine; discount on wine/meals; free desserts; discounts on cookery courses; discounts within shops; free cups of coffee; free sweeties; special offer lunch & dinner and buy one get another product free.

To find out full details of both the offers and events, you need to look out for a copy of the official Horsham Food & Drink Festival Guide, widely distributed within the Horsham area, plus of course, being available in the businesses taking part in Steyning, Bramber, Upper Beeding, Small Dole, Edburton, Ashurst & Wiston.

Most of the offers will request sight of this official guide, so quite important to get hold of one of them!
