Steyning COFE Primary School: Sussex Champions and Tri County Medallists

Our epic journey started back in March when our hockey team won the Southern Area Championship.

This meant that Steyning Primary would represent our Area in the School Games Finals held at the K2 Sports Centre in Crawley.

Nine Sussex regions fought out the finals with the top four representing Sussex in a brand new, tri county competition, to be held in Canterbury, Kent.

Steyning won the Gold Medal for the first time and travelled to Canterbury to play the best from Kent and Surrey.

What an experience for all involved.

After a very tight group stage, settled by goal difference, Steyning found out that they would play for the Bronze Medal.

Thanks to two goals from Rose and James, Steyning came out on top beating a very good team from Kent.

This is a monumental performance which should inspire others to perform at a higher level in the future.
