Osborne Humphreys Celebrates 50 Golden Years

As one of the longest established estate agencies in the local area, Osborn Humphreys have been at the forefront of property marketing & management in Shoreham, Steyning and the surrounding areas since 1968, that’s over 50 Years…


Originally David Humphreys & Co opened its premises next door to the Post Office in Brunswick Road, Shoreham. Due to unprecedented success they rapidly outgrew the office and within 3 years the business moved to larger premises at 32/34 Brunswick Road, where they remain to this day. In 1973 the company expanded by opening a further office in Steyning which was situated adjacent to the Law Courts. The business quickly established a sizeable market share benefiting enormously from the two local offices working closely together.


Our current Principal, Stuart Osborn, joined the Shoreham branch in 1976 and later went on to manage the Steyning office.
In 1987 he was invited to join David as a partner in the business and the name was changed to Osborn Humphreys. Following David’s retirement in 2002 Stuart moved the Steyning office to ‘Milestones’, 25 High Street, one of the oldest buildings in Steyning. A ‘Wealden’ house built circa 1480.


In the summer of 2014, we again re-located to 39 High Street, centrally situated adjacent to the Chequer Inn. A more spacious office, with a prominent High Street position, providing a greater window display and better accessibility.
During this time we have witnessed many changes to the ways in which property is bought, sold, let and rented.
We have always embraced new ways of marketing property and we were, in fact, the first estate agent in the area to develop our own website.


Thankfully some things simply do not change, such as our commitment and dedication to the individual requirements of all our clients and our desire to deliver an exceptional service.
