Little Shop of Horrors

Following its recent big hit productions, Billy Liar, Anne of Green Gables and Confusions, the very prolific Henfield Theatre Company is ready to bring its May show to the stage.

Little Shop of Horrors is a lively, zany, satirical show full of comedy and foot-tapping, 1960s style music. Set in a flower shop, it features Seymour Krelborn, a shy character whose mundane life is turned on its head when he comes across a talking, singing plant from outer space which grows, alarmingly, when supplied with its favourite food…blood!

The show, written by Howard Ashman and set to music by Alan Menken, had its debut in New York in 1982 and has been a huge success around the world.

The Henfield production is directed by Graeme Muncer, perhaps best known for his antics as the dame and other comedy characters on the Henfield stage. He is also an experienced director with a flair for light hearted productions. David Barnett is musical director and Alice Forward is choreographer. Both are very experienced and talented in their fields.

This will be a show not to be missed.

Little Shop of Horrors will be staged at The Henfield Hall from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 May, starting at 7.30pm. The box office is at Stevens, Henfield High Street (phone: 01273 492141) and online at the web address below. Tickets are £11 and £13.

Henfield Theatre Company wishes to thank Jeremy’s for sponsoring the show and Jasmines for providing the venue for some of the publicity photographs.
