Steyning Art Group

We are a small sociable group of 12 experienced artists and have been established since the year 2000.

We meet every Tuesday Morning from 9.30 till 12.30 at the Steyning Centre.

In the summer we meet at various outside locations.

We are not tutor led but we learn from each other and exchange ideas. Members work in watercolours, oils, (but not permitted at the group morning) acrylics, pastels, inks, and textiles.

There is an annual exhibition when all members are expected to exhibit .

We are now recruiting new members and invite you to come along for coffee and bring along some of your work.

Steyning Camera Club

Steyning Camera Club, established in 1972, is one of the most lively, friendly and successful photographic clubs in the south of England. Photographers of all interests and abilities are welcomed.

Activities include presentations, competitions, and workshops. Members also enjoy a variety of group trips to places of interest or special events, and can contribute to Club exhibitions in the area. Visitors to the Club are welcome to attend selected talks for a nominal entrance fee.

"The Club meets at The Village Hall, High Street, Upper Beeding, BN44 3WN.

Regular talks from UK and International photographers are on Monday evenings, starting at 7.30pm, from September through to May and visitors are more than welcome (£3).

On alternate Tuesday mornings the ‘Coffee Club’ meets at various locations for informal socials and photography amongst members.

Steyning Probus Club

Community Creative Textile Group

Monthly meetings to complete textile outcomes for the community. This group of 20 members has been meeting since 2014 and formed as a result of the Steyning Grammar School Quilts 400 project. Currently working on a project to bedeck the walls of East Clayton Farm with textile hangings inspired by the wildlife, wild flowers and small holding farm animals as well as the people who keep the farm going.

Sugar and Spice Sugar Craft Club

We are a new club in the area for anyone that would like to learn many aspects of sugar craft, from flower making, modelling, piping and many more ways with sugar.
We hope to make it a fun evening with demonstrators at some meetings and other meetings you will be able to join in and make something. The club is for you and what you want out of it. Annual fee £20, £3 on the door.

The Arts Society Steyning

The Arts Society Steyning meets at The Steyning Centre on the morning of the second Monday of each month where talks are given by highly qualified and experienced lecturers who have been selected by The Arts Society nationally as experts in their field.

Talks cover the entire range of artistic endeavours including diverse topics such as painting, architecture, ceramics, drama, furniture, jewellery, literature, music and photography.

We also organise several visits each year to places of interest, some of which relate to a talk.

Annual membership costs £40 although guests are also very welcome with a donation of £5.

The Steyning Society

The Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft. Celebrating our 55th Anniversary in 2019.

We aim to retain the essential Steyning character, maintain and improve the amenities and keep a watching brief over developments.

We offer small grants to local initiatives. Application forms for these are available from the Honorary Treasurer, Adrian Gobat and should be returned on or before May 1st or November 1st each year.

Vintage Years Club meets the first Friday of every month at the Steyning Centre. There is varied entertainment - anything from serious talks to pop groups. There is always tea and coffee (occasionally something stronger), biscuits and a raffle. Our Outings are organised at or below cost price and are run once a month some full days some half days. Everyone is made very welcome.
