Totally Talented at The Towers
The audience at The Performing Arts Evening at The Towers Convent School were delighted by a surprise appearance from the drama teacher, Deborah Sparkes, who dressed and behaved as never seen before!
She and three Year 11 girls had rehearsed the sketch in secret so that not even her husband or daughter were prepared for the shock of seeing Mrs Sparkes acting as a badly behaved teenage goth!
The evening was entertaining with talent in abundance. There were other sketches from the Drama Club and girls from Years 10 & 11 performed their GCSE music compositions.
Another Year 11 pupil, Angela Nabuufu, enthralled everyone with her break dancing. Florence Chapman in Year 9 played one of her grade 8 violin pieces as well as joining Tali Humphrey in a flute duet.
As it was the last concert before the Music teacher, Heidi Gray, began her maternity leave it was fitting that three Year 11 musicians (Catherine Crick, Angela Nabuufu and Poppy Collins) composed and performed an amusing and touching song for her.
