Steyning Downland Scheme Big Picnic
There is an arty crafty theme to this years Big Picnic in Sunday 12th September at the Steyning Rifle Range.
Young people will be making an art installation, which will be photographed to help in the publicity for the Greening Steyning Campaign.
Picnickers will be able to vote on their favourite. Local artists will be displaying their work from the painting day on the Steyning Downland Scheme, and, as ever, Pete Varkala’s wonderful photographs of the project will be on display.
There will be lots of opportunities for children and young people to create tree people, do bushcraft activities, make badges and do trails through the trees. Walks will be on offer for those who want to explore the site further afield, and there will be some games following the success of last year’s ‘bale ball’.
Hot bacon rolls will be available, so bring your picnic and join in the fun. Tractor rides will take people to and from the site from the Mouse Lane entrance, and the day will round off with a short service celebrating the beautiful creation around us.
