Steyning Community Orchard - August 16 News

This project may discover old local varieties of apple within the town which could be used to graft new trees and ensure they do not go extinct. In addition to this we hope that this will encourage local people to eat and grow local fruit.

We need your help!
We need your help with this and would love to hear from you if you have any fruit or nut trees in your garden, or you know of any in a public space. You can use the email Steyningorchard@gmail.com to let us know:

But don't worry if you don't have all these details as we can estimate the age and contact you to identify the variety. We are not only interested in apples, but also pears, plums, cherries and nuts as well.

Event coming up:
Apple Day 1st October 2016. (Full details in next month's Your Steyning)
