Steyning Athletic Club

Are you looking to improve your fitness! Do you like walking, running, cycling, swimming, maybe some, maybe all then Steyning AC could be what you are looking for.

The club has just celebrated its 60th anniversary and has about 200 members ranging from 7 years of age up to over 80 years, and all levels of ability. Training is structured to ensure whether you are fast or slow, experienced or a novice you will always be able to enjoy the session.

As we approach Olympic year Steyning AC is expanding its activities and events in line with Olympic fever. An easy entry into athletics is through the West Sussex fun run league with picturesque off road runs of about 5 miles. The first event of 2012 is on Jan 2 and then there are approximately one a month throughout the year. Steyning AC promote the Roundhill romp in July as part of this series. These events are as much about participation as excellence.

For the more adventurous we have the Steyning Stinger half and full marathons on 4th March. Whether you want to walk or run, this event is not for the faint hearted. Entries are already being taken and training is highly recommended. Starting from Steyning Grammar School the route takes in beautiful Sussex downland.

Entry form and details are on the club website www.steyningac.co.uk

Swimming and cycling have both become major elements of the clubs activities supporting duathlons and triathlons with many mini events for those who want to experience this type of competition.

A very important part of the club belongs to our young athletes. Steyning Stormers have had a very successful year almost winning the West Sussex Fun Run League and they’re going all out to win it in 2012!

Each week all this is available and you can do as much or as little as you want;
