‘Sing Out’ for Marie Curie Cancer Care
Aled Jones asks people in Steyning to ‘Sing Out’ for Marie Curie Cancer Care this Christmas at the Festive Music Cafe.
Singer and television presenter Aled Jones is asking everyone in Steyning and the rest of the UK to “Sing Out for Marie Curie Cancer Care this Christmas to raise funds for one of the UK’s largest charities who provides free care for terminally ill people in their own homes as well as in their hospices”.
Kaleidscope Singers and Zoe Peate are no strangers to fund raising for local causes, and in fine voice with over 100 performers taking part from across Sussex, they are planning to raise the roof and well as raise funds for the Marie Curie appeal this Christmas with an exciting new event called Festive Music Café, which is taking place on Saturday 17th December at the Steyning Centre (10am-12.15pm) and (1pm-3.15pm)
Christmas is a very difficult time for those with terminal illness and their families and Marie Curie Nurses in Steyning will be working around the clock throughout Christmas and the New Year, to ensure patients can spend Christmas at home with their loved ones or in a hospice.
Last year, 375 Marie Curie Nurses across the country cared for patients on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, working in the community to provide free end of life care for patients in their own homes. Employing more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, providing care to more than 31,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in its nine hospices last year, Marie Curie is the largest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS.
So why not support this worthy cause at Christmas featuring local musicians and singers by coming along to the Festive Music Café with friends and family. You can spend as much time as you like at either the morning or afternoon performances, listening to Kaleidoscope Singers, Cantatrice, Just Voices, Coastline Harmony, Brass Ensemble, String Ensemble and many more, whilst relaxing and taking a festive break from all that shopping, with refreshments and lunch, knowing your donations will bring support to many in your local community this Christmas.
Tickets are now on sale from Steyning Bookshop 01903 812062 and 01903 812127 - £5 adults £3 children.
