Local Business: Steyning Osteopathic Clinic
Exciting new changes at the Steyning Osteopathic Clinic...
Hello, my name is Gemma Harding. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and bring you up to date with some exciting changes that have been happening at the Steyning Osteopathic Clinic over the past few months.
Richard Skudder, our practice owner packed his bags and left for Nepal in September to embark on an adventure, entrusting his patients to my care. His original plan was to work voluntarily as an English teacher but has instead set up a charity Osteopathic clinic 3540 meters high in the Himalayas.
There have been stories of Yak riding, dirt roads and horse racing. Most importantly Richard has been working alongside a local Menhang Doctor providing Osteopathic care to the local Menhang people and Tibetan refugees. These local people depend heavily on their physical health for work to provide food for their families. They have never previously had the privilege of receiving manual therapy. His work has truly made a huge difference and has been received with great appreciation showing a great diversity in where and how Osteopathy can be applied.
Although my experiences since being in Steyning have not been as elaborate as Richard’s time in Nepal, I have enjoyed every moment of getting to know and helping the people in the area. As I am new to the practice please feel free to contact me (Gemma Harding) with any queries about myself or what Osteopathy can offer you on the number listed below.
