Join the 10:10 Climate Action Campaign

Isn’t it time we all did something about climate change?  I’ve changed my light bulbs – but what else can I do?  What’s really going to make a difference, and where do I begin?

About the Campaign

10:10 is a campaign to unite every sector of British society behind a simple idea: that by working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK’s carbon emissions in 2010.

Thousands of individuals, schools, and businesses have already signed up.  You can find out more, sign up yourself, and download a checklist of ‘top tips’ for cutting your carbon footprint, at www.1010uk.org.

The idea of a local 10:10 Climate Action Campaign is to keep the momentum going, share information on what we can do to make a difference, and help others to join in.  We’ll be holding regular meetings and events during 2010, and hoping to join forces with other organisations in the area.  It’s early days so we’re looking for ideas – and volunteers!

Film showing:  “The Age of Stupid”

To kick off the campaign in the Steyning area, the film “the Age of Stupid” is being shown.  Set in the future, it stars Pete Postlethwaite as the last man alive on planet earth.  He’s looking back at why we didn’t act sooner while we had the chance.

If you’re still not convinced of the need to take action now to slow down climate change, you will be when you see this film!

When:  7.30 pm on Wednesday 2nd December

Where:  The Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft, Steyning

Mulled wine will be served, and there will be a discussion about the film, the issues, and the campaign.  Entrance is free (a collection will be taken).
