Henfield Festival of Gardens & Arts - 11th and 12th June

There will be displays of art and crafts of all types by local people, societies and clubs, both in gardens and community buildings.  Walks and children's activities also feature.

An essential ingredient of the weekend is food in the form of home-made lunches and afternoon teas served in some of the gardens, halls and churches; pubs and cafes will also be open.  Music is an important element of the weekend and you can listen to bands, choral and solo singing, handbell ringing, Morris dancing among other performances.  The festival rounds off with an outdoor musical extravaganza in the grounds of Red Oaks nursing home with a glass of Pimms.

Entrance to all venues is free, but charitable donations will be gratefully received.  This year the chosen charity is the Henfield Haven, a new community project which will be open to visitors.  Most venues are easily walkable, or the community minibus will take you to the few more distant venues.  A comprehensive blue guide will be available from mid May in pubs, shops and libraries in all surrounding towns and villages and an information point will be able to assist you on the day.  Or visit the village website www.henfieldhub.com  Please do come along.
