Give Your Stuff Away Day.

A second Give Your Stuff Away Day will be held on Sunday 4th September 11am-3pm.

The first event, held in July, was a great success. With beautiful weather, and people’s enthusiasm adding to the fun, around 40 - 50 households participated, and many people found useful items, some of which they didn’t even know they needed! Folk put out their offerings and whole families rambled round, on foot and by bike, to look at and collect free items. Everything was cleared away by 4 pm, leaving de-cluttered houses and garages, and those who collected, with goods which could be used again. It was a triumph of recycling!

The event brought people from as far afield as Rustington, Hassocks and Hurstpierpont. Their feedback was very positive with many saying that the atmosphere was lovely, with a great sense of community and an opportunity to join with others in a shared activity.

So the idea is simple. Please leave useful unwanted items outside your house between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 4th September, and make them available to others for free. Items can be left at the end of your driveway, or on the verge, and perhaps with a note to indicate that they are part of the event. It is important that pavements are not obstructed and that left-over items are removed at the end of the day.

Lets make it another successful event and help to shrink the amount of waste that we send to landfill.
