Chanctonbury Chorus
Maintaining the great musical tradition of Steyning, Chanctonbury Chorus will be performing Bach’s Magnificat and the much loved Requiem by Mozart on Saturday 29th January 2011 at 7.30pm at St. Andrew and St Cuthman’s Church, Steyning.
The fifty strong choir will be joined by four professional soloists;- Deborah Miles-Johnson, Claire Seaton, Mark Bradbury and Giles White all of whom have considerable experience of the oratorio and opera repertoires. The concert will be conducted by Siobhan Denning.
In June, the choir will be joined by Shoreham Oratorio Choir for their third joint performance when Brahms’ German Requiem will be performed in beautiful Lancing College Chapel.
How could a Summer evening be better spent?
Prior to these concerts the chorus will also be leading a Carol Concert in aid of CAFOD at Our Lady of England Church, Monastery Lane, Storrington on Wednesday 15th December at 7.3pm to which you are all invited.
Tickets for our concerts are available from ‘The Steyning Bookshop’ and ‘Design, Copy, Print’, Henfield and choir members.
If you like choral music, you may be encouraged to come and join us. We meet on Wednesday evenings in the Drama Room of Steyning Grammar School, Church Lane at 7.45pm until 9.45pm.
