A successful auction raises funds for Steyning Christmas Lights
After a very successful auction evening on 3rd October (and great thanks to the White Horse Inn for hosting and greatly assisting at the event), I feel that the Chamber have made a huge leap towards the required financial target for the annual Christmas season lights. Many businesses and individuals have made this possible and to them, as listed below, the Chamber Committee give their heart-felt thanks.
Steyning Tea Rooms, Spencer Hart, Adur Brewery, Body Matters, Springwells Hotel, Ian Ivatt (Tax Accountant), The Chequer Inn, H J Burt, Jackie Binns, Nia, Southdown Gliding, Robinson Opticians, Sussex Produce Company, Al Baddars, West Chiltington Golf Club, Chris Morgan, Steyning Leisure Centre, Bunces Hardware, White Horse Inn, Steyning Book Shop, Spirit, Roberts The Butchers, Steyning Pet Shop, Ian Munro, Chez Joel, Steyning Post Office, The Old Bakery Tea Rooms, A Cars, Country House, Steyning Stationers, David Brown Leisure.
Special thanks to Nick Hempleman and Lucy Harrison at our local greengrocers, Sussex Produce.
It is a long list but I feel proud to say, surely represents a huge body of individuals and organisations in Steyning who very much want to continue this wonderful tradition of the annual yuletide season lights in the High Street, and have worked very hard to achieve this end. Additionally, all of us are well aware of the community’s fervent wish to continue with this annual stunning spectacular – so just a little more finance and our target will be reached. As has been said before, give our Committee “the tools and we will finish the job!”
Lastly, I must not forget our hardworking amateur auctioneer (and I suppose by now, virtual honorary member of the Chamber) Bob Patching who masterminded the evening, so brilliantly – well done Bob! I must also mention Melanie of “Your Steyning” magazine for her ongoing support.
Also, please watch out from now on for the small buckets in most of the High Street shops to fill up, please, with your loose change after purchases!
