The Steyning Society

The Steyning Society is the largest society in Steyning with nearly 300 members and celebrates its 50th Anniversary next year. Its main aim is to retain the essential character of Steyning particularly its wonderful buildings and amenities. It maintains a watching brief over new developments in the town.

On the third Friday of the month - September to June - it holds talks on local topics which are free to members including free coffee and tea. These take place in the Steyning Centre at 7.30pm. Coach outings to National Trust properties and other venues are arranged periodically by Peter Harris on 01903 813983.

Steyning Camera Club
Steyning Camera Club, established in 1972, is one of the most lively, friendly and successful photographic clubs in the south of England. Photographers of all interests and abilities are welcomed.

Activities include presentations, competitions, and workshops. Members also enjoy a variety of group trips to places of interest or special events, and can contribute to Club exhibitions in the area. Visitors to the Club are welcome to attend selected talks for a nominal entrance fee.

We are a small Club which has been providing a Bowling facility for Men since 1933 and Ladies since 1969.

Our new season started in April and as usual we will be looking for new members to maintain our playing strength. Our Taster Sessions are an easy way to start and details of these are included in the diary section of Your Steyning together with some Open Days to which aspiring new members are invited.


Come along at 6.00pm with flat shoes and we will show you how it's done both in theory and practice. Whether you are new to the sport or already have some experience and want to brush up before continuing, come and join us. Any age, Ladies and Gentlemen, all are welcome.


You will also have some refreshments while we try to enthuse you. 
Bowling is a great sport for people of all ages and provides gentle exercise, in a friendly atmosphere with a plethora of friendly matches against local Clubs, internal competitions and at higher level, if you are so inclined.

The West Sussex Downs Diabetes UK Group offers support and information for everyone with diabetes and their carers in a large part of West Sussex, from Worthing in the South to Crawley in the North, and from Pulborough in the west to Burgess Hill in the East.



Anyone is welcome to come to our support meetings, where we share experiences with others and listen to presentations by healthcare professionals. All sessions are free.
